A FREE "Scrapheap Challenge" event takes place for 11 to 19-year-olds in Clitheroe next week.
The two-day event will be held at the Trinity Centre, in Wesleyan Row, from 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.

As fans of the "Scrapheap Challenge" TV programme will know, teams are challenged to build machines, vehicles or other items from scrap and then compete against each other using the finished item.

Organisers are also appealing for people with useable scrap material – such as wheels, axles, angle iron etc. – to take it to Trinity Centre before next Tuesday so it can be used in the challenge.

Also at the Trinity Centre, a family barbecue will be held next Thursday, from 6 p.m. An alternative event will be held inside the centre if the weather is bad.
