Millionaire's life for sale on eBay
A millionaire and lord of the manor has put his life up for sale on Internet auction site eBay in a bid to turn his assets into cash to pay off his debts.
Hotel owner David Piper, who six years ago advertised for a wife to become his "lady of the manor", wants to move to London to be near his children following his diagnosis of prostrate cancer.
He is auctioning off his two hotels, two Bentleys, a collection of paintings and title of Lord of the Manor of Warleigh which came a a million-pound estate he bought.
Mr Piper hopes to raise up to £4,000,0000 through the auction and more than 100 bids have been received so far, with the current highest offer being £1.3m.. Bidding closes on August 11th.
Earlier this year Ian Usher, a British-born man living in Australia, auctioned off all his worldly goods but the £196,000 he made was much less than he had hoped.
