PC Andrew Sarchet and PCSO Amy Stevenson, of Lancashire Constabulary, have been in talks with the Imam at Jamia Mosque Sultania and Education Centre to crackdown on groups of teens who are breaking the coronavirus social distancing rules and congregating at Heyhead Park, Tunstill Square and Sackville Street Park Sports play areas.
A police spokesman said: "The local Imam has kindly agreed to broadcast messages over the mosque radio to address those breaching the COVID-19 rules and to make parents aware that many youths are causing problems generating complaints within the community. We ask that all please adhere to the government rules as we all have a personal responsibility to follow these. Stay safe by protecting your vulnerable loved ones."
