MEMBERS of Clitheroe Lions have donated more than £1,000 to Marie Curie Cancer Care, a charity celebrating its 60th anniversary.
The funds were raised during a two-day daffodil collection at Sainsbury's supermarket, Clitheroe. This amassed £607.04, a total which was boosted when members donated a further £500.
Lyn Fenton, the charity's community fund-raising manager, said: "We are extremely grateful to the members of Clitheroe Lions for their support and generosity, which will make a real difference in the coming months. The money will be used to support patients in the Clitheroe area who choose to be cared for by Marie Curie Cancer Care Nurses, enabling patients to remain at home at the end of their life."
